Description

One continuous line of chromed steel, bent into a perfect C. This Bauhaus-style side table slides over sofa legs and under bench seats to bring coffee, a laptop, or late-night reading exactly where you need it — on smooth-rolling casters, or on a classic fixed cantilever base.

About the Bauhaus Cantilever Tradition

In the mid-1920s at the Bauhaus in Dessau, Marcel Breuer looked at the curved handlebars of his bicycle and saw the future of furniture. His experiments in cold-bent tubular steel replaced heavy legs and joinery with a single continuous loop of polished tube — furniture that seemed to float. The C-shaped occasional table grew directly out of that revolution: one run of steel carrying a floating top, with a low base that tucks beneath sofas, daybeds, and benches instead of fighting them for floor space. This table stays true to that tradition. The geometry is reduced to essentials, the chrome catches and bends the light, and the form serves everyday life exactly as the Bauhaus intended — quietly, and without a single wasted line.

Care & Assembly

Assembly is quick and simple with the included hardware — fasten the tabletop to the frame and, on the caster version, fit the four wheels. Keep the chrome bright by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth. Clean the acrylic top with mild soapy water and a soft microfiber cloth; avoid ammonia-based glass cleaners, alcohol, and abrasive pads, which can craze acrylic or dull the mirror finish.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it really slide under my sofa or bench?

Yes — that is the point of the C shape. The low base tucks beneath sofas, beds, and benches with open floor clearance, so the tabletop cantilevers over your seat instead of sitting beside it. The caster version has a 3.1 in (7.9 cm) base clearance.

What is the difference between the two versions?

Both share the same frame and top. The With Casters version rolls freely and stands 26 in tall; the Without Casters version rests directly on the floor with a lower 24 in profile and a fixed, planted stance.

Do the casters work on carpet and hard floors?

The dual-wheel casters roll smoothly on hardwood, tile, and low-pile rugs. On deep-pile carpet the fixed version is the steadier choice.

Can I use it as a laptop table or bedside table?

Absolutely. The 26 in height suits most sofa arms and bed frames, and the 19.9 in wide top comfortably holds a laptop, a book stack, or a breakfast tray.

How do I keep the chrome finish looking new?

Dust with a soft, dry cloth and buff occasionally with a microfiber cloth. Keep it dry and away from abrasive cleaners, and the mirror polish will hold its shine for years.
