Frequently Bought Together
Bring home a celebrated piece of Italian mid-century design. This set of two stacking dining chairs pairs sculpted plywood seats and backrests — finished in real wood veneer — with slender chromed steel legs and polished cast aluminum brackets, a silhouette made famous by Giancarlo Piretti in the 1960s.
About Giancarlo Piretti
Giancarlo Piretti, born in Bologna in 1940, reshaped everyday seating in postwar Italy. Working with the furniture maker Castelli, he designed some of the most inventive chairs of the era — the folding Plia of 1967 among them, alongside the celebrated stacking side chairs of the mid-1960s that filled offices, universities and dining rooms across Europe. Piretti’s genius was engineering that disappears into elegance: cast aluminum joints that let a chair stack or fold without ever looking mechanical. These dining chairs stay true to that tradition — light in the hand, precise in detail, and instantly recognizable across a room.

Care
Wipe the veneer surfaces with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry immediately; avoid abrasive cleaners and prolonged direct sunlight, which can fade natural wood tones. Polish the chromed legs and aluminum brackets with a dry microfiber cloth, and keep the anti-scratch glides free of grit to protect hard floors. When not in use, the chairs stack for compact storage.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are the seat and backrest real wood?
Yes. Each shell is multi-layer laminated plywood surfaced with real wood veneer, so grain and tone vary subtly from chair to chair.
Can the chairs be stacked?
Yes. The cast aluminum frame is designed for stacking, and the anti-scratch glides protect the chair below.
Does one set include one color or a mix?
Each set of two comes in a single veneer color — choose Cherry Wood, Natural Oak Wood or Stained Black Oak from the Color option. The three finishes share the same frame, so mixed sets pair beautifully around one table.
Will they fit a standard dining table?
With a 17.7" (45 cm) seat height, they suit standard dining tables of 28–30" (71–76 cm).
How do I keep the veneer looking new?
Dust regularly, wipe spills promptly with a barely damp cloth, and keep the chairs out of prolonged direct sun — see the Care section above.
